' s Premier Critical Reasoning Platform designed to examine essential 21 st century skills in young(Grade 6 to 9)trainees, revealed the successful conclusion of Round One or the Qualifier Round of the Pan-India competitors. Held essentially from July 8 th– 13 th 2021, the Qualifier round evaluated individualsthrough a 40-minute Olympiad that examined trainees utilizing adaptive multiple-choice questions, attributing to different aspects of vital reasoning and problem-solving abilities. Close to 7000 students representing 2000 schools from across the country signed up to take part in the first edition of HCL Jigsaw. Trainees from 28 states and union areas took part in the Qualifier Round

and 65%of these were from ten major cities, consisting of Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, NOIDA, Lucknow, Gurugram, Kolkata and Pune. Over half of the taking part students were from schools associated to the CBSE board. Other boards including CISCE, IB, Cambridge, and State boards were similarly represented along with couple of students from Open schools and unique schools. Sharing his experience, Chinmay Matapurkar, Grade 6 from Delhi Public School stated, & ldquo; I discovered the Critical Reasoning Olympiad quite interesting and thought-provoking. The quality of questions was good and the procedure of sending the responses was simple. Roundone had a mix of brain teasers and analytical questions which was great. I anticipate getting picked for the ending and more theme-based obstacles. & rdquo; While all participating students will get in-depth assessment reports of their performance on each ability, giving them a plan for enhancement and advancement

locations, top 20 percentile from each grade, will qualify for HCL Jigsaw Finale. Details of the certifying trainees will be revealed on July 15 and the Finale will happen practically on July 31 st and August 1 st, 2021. The two-stage finale will involve trainees dealing with a real-world , theme-based problem statement and finding imaginative solutions for the same. Students in each grade will be organized in groups throughout stage one and will workin a virtual mystery room to
creatively resolve a problem. Total 36 trainees will then transfer to stage 2 of the Finale, where they will complete individually and provide their strategy to resolve a real-world case scenario to a professional jury. Top three trainees from each grade (total 12 trainees) will win the title of & ldquo; India & rsquo; s Top Problem Solvers & rdquo;. Each winner of HCL Jigsaw will earn gift rewards and devices worth approximately Rs. 1 lakh. They will also get discovering chances at HCL Engineering and Innovation labs.
