Chris Hemsworth to Return as Tyler Rake in ‘Extraction 2’: Release Date, Plot, and Cast Revealed

Netflix is set to release Extraction 2, the sequel to the 2020 action movie that saw Chris Hemsworth star as Tyler Rake, a mercenary tasked with rescuing a kidnapped child.

Directed by Sam Hargrave and written by Joe Russo, Extraction was one of Netflix’s most popular original releases. In Extraction 2, Rake is deployed on a new mission to extract a family from a brutal prison in which they are being held by a ruthless Georgian gangster. However, things don’t go to plan, plunging Rake into even greater danger, action, and suspense as he travels across Europe.

Filming for Extraction 2 took place in Prague from late 2021 to spring 2022, with Hargrave directing and Joe Russo penning the script.

Release Date, Cast

The movie is set to debut on Netflix on June 16, 2023, with Adam Bessa, Rayna Campbell, Golshifteh Farahani, and Tinatin Dalakishvili joining Hemsworth in the cast. The first teaser trailer, released in April 2022, shows Hemsworth’s Rake punching his way through a prison yard and shooting down a helicopter in a snowy landscape.
