While Bollywood Nepotism and the victims of injustice are still in discussions after Sushant’s suicide, we are yet to acknowledge many young Talents in various fields of the industry. The ones who had to struggle to pave their way without a godfather are many. Rajesh Kumar Sheshmal Kalal, from Ahmedabad in Gujarat recently shared the struggles he had been through in his Choreography career in the Bollywood industry.
Rajesh kicked start his career in 2014 had a burning passion for his dreams. He was in the judging panel for a variety of small reality shows. In 2015, he moved to Dubai in search of more opportunities which was indeed a turning point for himself. There he joined The Hive with the help of Tanaaz Irani and Bakhtiyaar Irani.
He was able to grab a handful of opportunities via Hive like – Indian club Holi festival, Indian club Navratri Festival, Global village, Indian Jones London Trinity Theatre Show, and The Junction Dance Workshop. However, a significant milestone in his career was when he got the opportunity to work in ABCD in 2015. The Bollywood movie had caught remarkable attention due to exceptional storytelling and dance-oriented theme.
In the succeeding years, Rajesh indeed had a lot of opportunities. He was able to work with top Bollywood stars like Salman Khan, Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline, Vidya Balan, Shraddha Kapoor, Jackie Shroff. Movies like Dabang2, Street Dancer 3D also added to his career. Many popular reality shows like Dance pe Chance and Colors Ke Sartaj had Rajesh as the Judge too. Starting as an Assistant choreographer he is now a well-known fitness trainer and Choreographer.
He also started RK dance Institute in Ambika Nagar, Ahmedabad to support new Talents. From a small village in Gujarat, it was indeed a long way till he started to acquire the deserved recognition.
