Multiple Schools in Delhi-NCR Evacuated Following Bomb Threats

In a tense morning for the national capital region, over 50 schools in Delhi and one in Noida were evacuated after receiving bomb threats via email on Wednesday. The threats, which triggered a massive response from security forces, led to precautionary measures including evacuating students and conducting thorough searches of school premises.

The Delhi Police, bomb disposal squads, and officials from the Delhi Fire Service were swiftly deployed to the affected schools. Among the targeted institutions were prestigious names like Delhi Public School, Mother Mary School, Sanskriti School, and Amity School. While DPS units in Dwarka and Vasant Kunj, along with Mother Mary School in Mayur Vihar, Sanskriti School, and Amity School in Saket were among those threatened, DPS Noida also reported a similar threat.

Despite the urgency of the situation, authorities maintained calm and coordinated efforts to ensure the safety of students and staff. Speaking to the media, Delhi Minister Atishi reassured parents, stating that no suspicious items had been found in any of the schools. She emphasized that the government and police were in constant communication with school authorities to manage the situation effectively.

The threats, which arrived via email in the early hours of the morning, prompted immediate action from security agencies. Bomb detection teams and specialized units conducted thorough searches of the premises, but no suspicious items were discovered. Preliminary investigations suggested that the IP addresses associated with the threatening emails originated from outside India, possibly masked through a VPN.

While the exact motive behind the threats remains unclear, security agencies continue to investigate the matter diligently. The incident underscores the importance of vigilance and preparedness in dealing with such emergencies, as well as the need for collaboration between authorities and educational institutions to ensure the safety of students and staff.

As the situation unfolds, residents and stakeholders remain hopeful for a swift resolution and a return to normalcy in the affected areas.
