Sanjeev Kotiya, a para-athlete from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, has won two silver and one bronze medal at the recently concluded 3rd Asian Para Canoe Championship in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The championship, which was held from April 22 to April 30, saw participation from 15 countries including Uzbekistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Thailand, and others.
Upon his return to Delhi from Uzbekistan, Kotiya was welcomed by the president of the federation, Mr. Netram Thagela, and his team at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium hostel. The federation congratulated Kotiya on his spectacular performance in the championship, and team Thagela also congratulated the other players, coaches, and physiotherapists who contributed to the success of the team.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Thagela said that the athletes have proved that disability is not a curse and that with the love, support, patience, and necessary training of society, these athletes can also become a national heritage.
Mr. Thagela further announced that Sanjeev Kotiya will be felicitated at the annual convention of Sanjeev Kotiya in Delhi in the future.
Sanjeev Kotiya is an inspiration to all and has proved that with determination and hard work, anything is possible. His achievements at the championship have not only made his state proud but also the entire nation.
